PDP Youth dares DAP MP to back venue ‘sabotage’ claim

The Progressive Democratic Party's (PDP) youth branch has called upon Mas Gading MP Mordi Bimol to substantiate his claims that a June change in location for a government event was an act of sabotage. The youth wing emphasized that such assertions must be backed by concrete evidence, as the general public has a right to know the truth.

According to the PDP statement, unsubstantiated allegations should not be used to cast doubt on government entities, administrators, or community organizations without presenting the alleged wrongdoing.

In June, Mordi had alleged that the venue for a driving licence assistance programme was unexpectedly changed at the last minute, stating that the venue owner was allegedly ordered not to permit the hall to be used for the event. He subsequently described the incident as sabotage on a podcast. The PDP youth branch further urged Mordi to specifically identify instances where community leaders were allegedly discouraged or prevented from seeking assistance at his service centre.

Deputy president Henry Harry Jinep, the assemblyman for Tasik Biru, which falls under Mas Gading's constituency, has denied issuing any warnings to community leaders. If there are any genuine cases of village leaders being threatened, intimidated, or penalized solely for approaching an elected MP, those instances should be identified and thoroughly investigated.
