Today, on Ginger Cat Appreciation Day, we celebrate six fabulous ginger cats whose adventures have made headlines.

First up is King Oyen, a Malaysian internet sensation who has amassed over 112,000 followers on social media. This dapper cat is often seen donning sunglasses, a Jalur Gemilang-themed shirt, and a traditional Malay headgear during Malaysia's National Day celebrations. He enjoys cycling with his furparents and has a wardrobe full of stylish outfits to suit any occasion.

Zoo Negara's Oyen, also an orange cat, made headlines for his friendship with capybaras. Abandoned at the zoo, Oyen wandered into the rodents' enclosure and quickly integrated with the capybaras, becoming one of the zoo's most popular attractions. He even has his own signage at the enclosure, a testament to his charm and confidence.

Oyen the footwear bandit is a mischievous cat who has become an online sensation for his thefts of shoes in Klang Valley. When left unattended, Oyen would snatch any footwear he could find and run away, except when he encountered his owner, Noraini Darus, who would return the stolen items. Oyen's adorable face has made him a champion of repeat offenders in the neighborhood.

Kenzo, a grumpy internet star, is another ginger cat who has captured hearts with his characteristically unimpressed face and dislike of hugs. Kenzo prefers solitude and only accepts cuddles on his own terms. He loves exploring outside his home, but demands to return indoors with a dramatic display of displeasure. Kenzo and his siblings have over 268,000 followers on social media, proving that even grumpy orange cats have plenty of fans.

Jock VII, a marmalade cat, has been a guardian at Chartwell, the former home of Winston Churchill. Churchill's family requested that a marmalade cat named Jock always live at Chartwell after the former leader's death. Current Jock VII, a rescue cat, patrols the gardens, interacts with gardeners, and enjoys cuddles on the sofa. His presence adds to the historic charm of Chartwell.

Lastly, we have Bob, a street cat who became a hero to London busker James Bowen. When Bob was found injured by Bowen, neither could have predicted the life-changing friendship that would follow. Bob accompanied Bowen on his busking performances, helping him find purpose while recovering from drug addiction. Their bond inspired Bowen to write a book, "A Street Cat Named Bob," which was later adapted into a film featuring the real Bob. Bob passed away in 2020, but his story remains a testament to the power of second chances.
