‘Operasi Sifar Tertangguh’ fokus selesai projek, kata Zahid

Kementerian Kemajuan Desa dan Wilayah (KKDW) is implementing the delayed 'Operasi Sifar' project for the next four months, focusing on resolving outstanding issues such as payments, land disputes, utilities, contracts, assets, and decisions that have been postponed. Deputy Prime Minister and KKDW Minister Zahid Hamidi emphasized the importance of this action due to the limited time frame until 2026, as well as the potential increase in costs if decisions remain postponed.

He stated that the goal is to minimize new additions and focus more on resolving existing projects. All departments and agencies are encouraged to participate in the 'Operasi Sifar Tertangguh'. A comprehensive review is needed during this month, covering all projects, payments, land issues, utilities, contracts, assets, and unresolved decisions.

The review should be divided into three categories: those that can be resolved immediately, those requiring higher-level decisions or intervention, and projects that are no longer feasible or productive, which should be removed from the system. Each issue must have responsible parties, clear timelines, and decisions to prevent recurring problems without resolution.

Zahid highlighted the need for serious attention to payment issues, particularly for completed projects that meet the terms of the construction contracts, including rural road projects under KKDW. He emphasized that late payments not only pressure contractors but can also weaken the flow of cash for suppliers, subcontractors, workers, and service providers, impacting the overall economic chain in a region.

Effective fiscal management is not just about controlling expenses but ensuring commitments are managed responsibly to maintain public confidence in the government. Zahid stressed that the ability to manage finances is not only measured by how well plans are made but also by the government's ability to resolve citizens' issues, aligning with KKDW principles to bridge the gap between rural communities and opportunities for progress and better living.
