FC Augsburg has made significant changes to Manuel Baum's squad as the transfer deadline day approached. The club has signed Manchester City defender Juma Bah and Bayern Munich attacker Arijon Ibrahimovic on loan deals, both with purchase options. Juma Bah is expected to remain with Augsburg for the remainder of the 2026/27 season, while Ibrahimovic will join on a season-long loan with a €500,000 loan fee.

Augsburg also allowed striker Thomas Kastanaras to leave for Würzburger Kickers. These transfers aim to address the defensive void created by Keven Schlotterbeck's departure and provide the club with additional attacking options. Both players are 20 years old and have a wealth of senior experience. The three deals have significantly altered the squad, which was previously seen as primarily built on continuity.
