Nissan clocks 147% jump in India wholesales

Nissan Motor India experienced a significant surge in domestic wholesale volumes, with a 147% year-on-year increase to 3,426 units in August. This growth was driven by strong demand for the Magnite and Gravite models, as well as the introduction of the newly launched Tekton SUV. The company recorded a total of 9,350 wholesale units during the month, with 5,924 vehicles exported to international markets.

In a strategic move, Nissan began exporting the Tekton to South Africa, Bhutan, and Nepal, dispatching an initial batch of over 1,300 units. This marks the first phase of the Tekton's international rollout, as part of Nissan's "One Car. One World" initiative. The company aims to introduce the SUV in additional markets in the future. This export initiative underscores the growing importance of Nissan's Indian operations within its global manufacturing and export network.

The company highlighted that the commencement of exports to Nepal and Bhutan would further enhance the Tekton's presence in neighboring markets. Moreover, this expansion would help Nissan build scale across both domestic and international markets, starting from India. Nissan positioned the Tekton as a key model in its growth strategy for India, combining its SUV design language with Japanese craftsmanship, technology, and everyday practicality.
