New Street Fighter trailer shows kicking the crap out of a car is still in style

Legendary Pictures has unveiled a fresh trailer for their upcoming Street Fighter adaptation, a vibrant and energetic take on the renowned Capcom game series. Spanning just under three minutes, the trailer meticulously outlines the movie's narrative with the impact of a precise kick to the face: estranged siblings Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken (Noah Centineo) are reunited as Ken dives headfirst into the World Warrior Tournament, a grueling fighting championship overseen by the cruel M. Bison (David Dastmalchian).

Initially hesitant, Ryu eventually joins forces with Chun-Li (Callina Liang) after being struck in the head by her powerful kick. Nonetheless, it's Ken who seems to be relishing his time, showcasing his skills by dominating a high-end car, a trope that has become synonymous with the franchise over its 39-year history. (Contrast this with the 1994 Street Fighter film, which starred Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia but lacked any instances of barefoot car kicking.)

This trailer is sure to entertain, boasting dynamic camera angles capturing thrilling stunt fighting and absurdity, including fleeting glimpses of Jason Momoa's predominantly CGI character, Blanka.
