Mumbai Weather Update: Light Rain, Gusty Winds Likely Today; No IMD Alert This Week

Mumbai experienced light rain, overcast skies and gusty winds on Tuesday as monsoon conditions remained active. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted intermittent rainfall and thunderstorms throughout the day, though no rain alert was issued for the city this week. The weather was partly cloudy with occasional light spells of rain in both the city and suburbs.

According to the IMD, Mumbai and its suburbs would stay generally cloudy on Tuesday, with light rainfall expected at several locations. Although widespread heavy rain was not anticipated, isolated areas might see moderate to heavy showers during intense periods. Wind speeds were predicted to be around 40-50 kmph, with occasional gusts up to 50-60 kmph during stronger rain spells.

The highest temperature for the day was expected to be around 33°C, while the lowest temperature recorded in Mumbai on Tuesday morning was 29°C. Rainfall activity in Mumbai and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region had been moderate to heavy during the first days of August. However, rain activity became less intense later in the month, with isolated light to moderate showers still possible as monsoon conditions continued.

Residents were advised to exercise caution during sudden heavy rain spells, particularly in areas prone to waterlogging. While Mumbai's air quality remained good on Tuesday morning, with an AQI of 17, residents should remain vigilant for potential waterlogging and maintain vigilance during monsoon conditions.
