Nine-year-old Charlotte Muritala from Offa, Kwara State, has become an unexpected sensation on TikTok for her knack at teaching mathematics. A JSS2 student, Charlotte discovered her love for numbers at just five years old and now uses a whiteboard, marker, and smartphone to share her knowledge with other young learners. In her videos, Charlotte explains complex topics like algebra, fractions, and lowest common multiple in simple, easy-to-understand steps.

Speaking with Channels Television, Charlotte expressed her enjoyment of mathematics due to her fondness for numbers. She advises tackling difficult problems by breaking them into smaller parts and trying different methods until the correct one is found. Charlotte’s father noted that her dedication to mathematics is unwavering, as she spends most of her time learning and reading.

Her mathematics teacher described her as an exceptional student with a strong passion for solving mathematical problems, emphasizing the need for better support for children with exceptional academic abilities, including qualified teachers, scholarships, and proper funding. Charlotte’s advice to other struggling math students is to keep practicing daily and not be afraid of making mistakes.
