MBPP batal lesen, tangkap anjing serang anjing liar di Pearl Hill

The Petalum Jayra: The Penang City Council (MBPP) has withdrawn the license and seized a dog involved in an attack on an unknown dog in Pearl Hill, Tanjung Bungah. Rajendran Anthony, the MBPP City Bandar, stated that the dog's owner claimed he was not responsible for taking the dog out when the attack happened. The owner had to pay RM250 under the Town and Country Planning (Dogs) Enactment 1977 of the Penang Municipal Council (Pets) 1977, but has not yet claimed it.

"The owner wants to get the dog back, but we are not releasing it," he told FMT. He said the incident occurred on August 29 and they received a complaint the day after before seizing the dog on August 31. Rajendran said the owner had notified him that he was not the person who was walking the dog when the incident happened, instead someone else was controlling it.

In connection with this, MBPP has requested the dog's owner to file a police report to record the incident. He also confirmed that the dog was wearing a collar and had a valid license during the incident. According to him, the fine was imposed under the Town and Country Planning (Dogs) Enactment 1977 as the case involved dog biting.

He said the dog was registered with MBPP as a nuisance dog, although its breed is not yet determined. The case received attention after a video surfaced showing a large dog repeatedly cornering and biting a smaller white dog in Pearl Hill. In the video, a man is seen holding the leash of the larger dog, and only sees it biting the white dog.
