Lionel Richie sought medical attention following a concert in St. Louis, according to multiple U.S. reports. At the Muny, the 77-year-old singer appeared to lean on a piano for support during his performance and requested a chair for his final song, All Night Long, reported CBS News. TMZ was the first to reveal Richie's hospitalization, stating he went to a local facility for tests to investigate "possible slight dehydration."

A source close to the singer's tour told the Hollywood Reporter that Richie "self-checked in after the show Saturday night and is doing okay." This incident follows Richie's postponement of two shows after a health scare in June in Minnesota, as advised by his doctors. The United Center announced that the Hello singer had postponed performances in Chicago and Columbus, Ohio, with a return to the stage on June 30 in Pittsburgh, PA.

Richie's show in St. Paul saw him tell the crowd he was feeling dizzy and perform Dancing on the Ceiling while seated. After the intermission, the saxophonist informed the crowd that Richie was not feeling well and would not continue. Earth, Wind & Fire drummer John Paris confirmed Richie was "a little dehydrated," but the official health status remains unclear. Richie assured fans via Instagram that he was "doing well and grateful for all of you."
