Iran ready to reciprocate if US returns to Islamabad memorandum, says president

Iranian President Masoud Bazeshkian has indicated that Tehran will reciprocate if the US renews its commitments under the Islamabad memorandum. Speaking at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Kyrgyzstan, Bazeshkian emphasized that sustainable security is achieved through mutual trust, respect for sovereignty, non-interference, and government cooperation. He cautioned against confrontation as a means to attain security.

Contrastingly, US Vice President De Vance expressed skepticism about the Iranian regime's strategic vision, suggesting it is willing to disrupt oil and gas flows without strategic calculation. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi echoed this sentiment, stating that all nations desire to end the conflict between Iran and the US as quickly as possible. He added that the return of the US to its memorandum commitments would help steer matters back on track.
