In Delhi SIR list, districts with low voter turnout in ’25 polls saw most deletions

Delhi's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) draft electoral rolls have revealed that districts with the lowest voter turnouts in the 2025 Assembly elections have the highest percentage of deletions. The data released on Monday showed that constituencies with lower voter turnout had higher deletion percentages than those with higher voter turnouts.

The South East district had the highest deletion rate at 43.61%, while the Outer North district had the lowest deletion rate at 24.32%. The South Delhi district, which reported a 58.2% voter turnout, recorded 38.64% deletions, while the Northeast district, with a 66.25% turnout, had one of the lowest deletions at 29.03%. The deletion rate was lower in the Outer North district at 26.81%.

The exclusion process involves collecting forms, uploading them to the EC portal, and then identifying "uncollectable" electors, who may have moved, died, or are otherwise ineligible. These 47.58 lakh electors may be excluded from the draft roll, but they will have an opportunity to seek inclusion before the final electoral roll is published on November 4.
