I am more than qualified to be NPP National Youth Organiser – Alfred Ababio Kumi

Alfred Ababio Kumi, popularly known as Adenta Kumi, is a National Youth Organiser hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). In an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Kumi expressed his strong belief in his qualifications to lead the party’s youth wing. He explained that his experience within the NPP, stretching back before his tenure as a polling station executive, has equipped him with the necessary insights into the party's structures and operations.

Kumi served as one of the national communication officers to better understand the party's workings.

Moreover, he highlighted his involvement with the Tertiary Students Confederacy Network (TESCON), which he believed enhanced his skills in youth mobilisation and party organisation. While acknowledging that all his competition for the role is equally qualified, Kumi emphasised the diversity in visions and approaches each candidate brings.

He is confident about his campaign's growing momentum and attributes this to the support from delegates across the country. For Kumi, confronting difficult issues and displaying courage are key traits that make him an ideal candidate for the position. He also conducted research into the factors that led to the NPP's defeat in the 2024 general elections and outlined potential solutions.

Kumi's vision for the NPP includes making it more appealing to attract and retain a younger demographic that he considers the present and future of the party. He stresses the importance of fostering a sense of belonging among young members, asserting that a well-organised youth wing could significantly bolster the NPP's chances of regaining power.

Additionally, Kumi pledged his commitment to ensuring Dr Mahamudu Bawumia becomes the President in 2028 and to increasing the NPP’s parliamentary representation. He concluded by stating that effective youth organisation necessitates a strong presence at the grassroots and meaningful interaction with party members.
