Govt Offers Youth Access To Four GenAI Tools Via Rakyat Digital

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim recently presented a series of measures aimed at supporting the youth of the nation. Among these initiatives, the most notable is the provision of up to three months of free access to four premium Generative AI (GenAI) services for individuals aged between 18 and 30. To redeem these services, youth must complete six free learning courses available on the revamped Rakyat Digital website.

This website already hosts most of the courses, which were initially listed upon its relaunch. Upon successful completion of the courses, youths will be able to access Google Gemini Enterprise and YTL’s ILMUchat, along with MuleRun and WonderClip from Alibaba. However, it is important to note that only 100,000 youths will be offered this three-month subscription.

Anwar also announced the increase in the e-Invoice exemption threshold from RM1 million to RM3 million annually, making it easier for small businesses with annual sales under RM3 million to avoid implementing the e-Invoice system. Additionally, microfinancing facilities were increased by RM1 billion, raising the total funding for 2026 from RM5 billion to RM6 billion.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) also allocated RM1 billion to strengthen the digital efficiency of the public healthcare sector by implementing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and improving internet connectivity at 150 hospitals and over 2,000 public health clinics.
