Ghana, Serbia explore deeper cooperation in agriculture

Ghana's Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, engaged in discussions with Serbian counterpart Marko Đurić during the 65th Anniversary Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Belgrade. The bilateral meeting aimed to explore avenues for strengthening cooperation between the two nations, with a specific focus on agriculture. This cooperation initiative is part of Ghana's broader efforts at the conference to forge stronger partnerships and collaborations with other member states.

President John Dramani Mahama also met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in Belgrade. The meeting further underscored the commitment of both countries to deepen their relations and identify mutually beneficial opportunities for development and economic cooperation. President Mahama emphasized the importance of moving beyond mere declarations and translating commitments into tangible actions.

He urged member states of the Non-Aligned Movement to build upon the movement's historical legacy, stressing that the true measure of the movement's strength lies in the impact of collective actions in tackling global challenges.

Mahama highlighted the continued relevance of the Non-Aligned Movement, especially amidst increasing global tensions and uncertainties. By reaffirming its role as a founding member, Ghana reaffirms its dedication to the principles of sovereign equality, non-interference, peace, and enhanced economic cooperation among developing nations.
