Gagash and wife face 42 charges in deceased estate theft case

Lawyer Charlotte Tibana and Tshwane Metro Police officer and social media figure Peter "Gagash" Nonyane have been charged with 42 counts of theft from deceased estates, following the addition of six more counts of money laundering at the Polokwane Magistrates’ Court. Tibana and Nonyane are accused of pilfering funds from the deceased's accounts belonging to five families.

State Prosecutor Martin Molokwane reveals that the new charges pertain to R1,029,000 transferred from the Kobe family's estate account to a Jabulani Maluleke account. Charges 38, 39, 40, 41, and 42 were allegedly committed on various dates in 2026, with Tibana's alleged stewardship of the affected accounts. The cumulative value of the alleged illicit activities is R1,029,000.
