Fortuin and Jansen bowl Proteas to victory over Zimbabwe after Pretorius' career-best 94

In a recent T20 International match played in Windhoek, the Proteas extended their lead at the top of the T20 International tri-series table with a convincing 43-run victory over Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe, who were set a target of 186 runs to win, struggled to build momentum early on and found themselves in trouble at 66/8 in the 10th over.

Captain Sikandar Raza, in an attempt to recover, made 45 runs off 33 deliveries for his team, but it was not enough as Zimbabwe were bowled out for 142 in the 18th over. Spin bowler Bjorn Fortuin and fast bowler Duan Jansen were standout performers for the Proteas, taking 4/24 and 3/21 respectively. South Africa's innings was led by 20-year-old opening batter Lhuan-dré Pretorius, who scored a T20 International career best 94 runs off 51 balls, and shared an 86-run partnership for the second wicket with Jordan Hermann.

Despite Zimbabwe's bowling attack, spearheaded by spinner Wessly Madhevere with 3/20, putting up resistance, the Proteas top order had done enough to secure the win. The match was the fourth in a series of round-robin matches, with the Proteas now two points ahead of the other teams in the T20 International tri-series log. The final of the series is scheduled to be played on Sunday, with South Africa set to face Namibia.
