Exclusive-VinFast puts the brakes on manufacturing some cars in India, sources and memo say

VinFast has temporarily halted manufacturing plans for three electric vehicles in India, sources and a company memo reveal. The suspension, announced following a July memo to suppliers, affects the VF3, VF6, and VF7 SUV models, which VinFast had previously planned to develop and assemble locally. Sources indicate the decision was made due to VinFast's inability to meet projected costs for the projects.

India remains an important market for VinFast's long-term strategy, and the company stated plans to develop India-specific models rather than import existing global versions. Despite the pause, VinFast confirmed it would continue assembling the VF6 and VF7 models at its recently opened factory in southern India.
