Ex-APC presidential aspirant withdraws from active politics

Adamu Garba, a former presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, has announced his withdrawal from active political participation. In a statement posted on his X handle, Garba cited the demands of his responsibilities as head of his technology company, IPI Group Limited, and his role as Chief Platform Architect. He stated that his decision was made after careful reflection, emphasizing that the work required his sustained personal attention and technical expertise, which cannot be delegated alongside heavy political participation.

Garba emphasized that he would focus exclusively on the development of his AI-First enterprise and strengthening his community through technology for the greater good. He expressed deep gratitude for the interest, invitations, and support received during his political journey over the past nine years. Garba had declared his interest in the 2019 presidential race under the APC, focusing on structural reforms, youth inclusion, and national integration.

However, he withdrew from the 2023 elections due to concerns about the high cost of expression-of-interest and nomination forms, which were pegged at N100m, and the potential commercialization of politics. In 2022, he had also withdrawn from the APC contest. Throughout his political career, Garba remained publicly associated with the APC.
