Former England footballer Gary Lineker has revised his prediction for the Premier League title after watching Chelsea and Manchester City secure victories over the weekend. Previously, Lineker had declared Arsenal as the clear favorites, predicting they would clinch the title with a 10-point lead this season. However, Lineker now believes that Chelsea and Manchester City will closely follow Arsenal in the race for the top spot.

Chelsea's attacking trio of Cole Palmer, Joao Pedro, and Morgan Rogers has been particularly impressive, scoring seven goals against Fulham and Brighton. Although they have faced defensive struggles, conceding five goals, Chelsea's attacking prowess appears to be a significant threat. Manchester City, after narrowly defeating Bournemouth in their opener, returned to their dominant form with a 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace. Lineker praised Enzo Maresca's performance, stating, "Enzo Maresca has made a commendable start."

While acknowledging Arsenal's status as a top team, Lineker pointed out that their strengths may lie elsewhere in the squad. He emphasized that Manchester City possess significant attacking power. Despite changing his mind regarding the title race, Lineker still considers Arsenal to be the favorites to win the championship. Arsenal's narrow win over Aston Villa at Villa Park on Monday night saw them climb to the fourth position in the league table. They will host Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
