Energie: Dutzende Unternehmen fordern mehr Pflichten für Netzbetreiber

Düsseldorf, Germany - The energy sector is witnessing a battle over a scarce resource: the power grid. Increasingly, businesses and consumers are unable to implement their renewable energy projects due to a lack of grid connections.

Thorsten Klöpper, the Deutschland Geschäftsführer of battery storage developer Voltwise, emphasizes that "grid connection capacities are the new gold in the energy market." Various entities – including wind and solar farms, EV charging stations, battery storage facilities, and private households with new solar installations, heat pumps, or wallboxes – are eagerly awaiting positive feedback from a power grid operator.

In response to this demand, dozens of companies have formed initiatives to seek assistance from the federal government. As the government revises key energy laws such as the Energy Economy Act (EnWG) and the Renewable Energy Sources Act (EEG), these initiatives have drafted proposals for new standards and specific changes to paragraphs. They plan to publish and present these plans to the relevant politicians on Tuesday. The plans were previewed to the Handelsblatt.
