Ebonyi Commissioner Accused Of Ordering Abduction, Stomping On Young Man’s Head Over Political Support For His Brother

Ebonyi State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry, and Business Development, Oguzorkanu Offia-Nwali, faces allegations of ordering the abduction and physically assaulting a young man, Madu, over his political support for his brother's campaign. According to Madu, who recounted his ordeal in his native Izzi dialect, he was abducted by a group of four men, identified as Ikechukwu Egede, Emmanuel Nwambe, Okwy Nwambe, and Ogeje Kingsley.

Madu alleges that after being taken to the commissioner's private residence, Offia-Nwali confronted him with a video where Madu expressed support for Rollins, his brother's opponent in the State House of Assembly elections. Upon being questioned by Offia-Nwali, Madu claimed his comments were directed at non-performing political office holders, not his brother.

The commissioner is accused of retaliating violently, repeatedly stomping on Madu's head, kicking his face, slamming his head onto the floor, and slapping him. All injuries sustained by Madu were reportedly inflicted directly by Offia-Nwali, while the men who abducted him merely watched. Former SUG President Caesar Francis condemned the commissioner's actions, describing Madu as a young man caught in the crossfire of political rivalries.

Caesar also addressed claims made by Offia-Nwali in social media, where the commissioner had claimed to have "packaged" Caesar for his SUG presidency campaign. Offia-Nwali had previously vowed to resign if the NDC or any opposition party won any polling unit in Ameka during the elections.
