Dax aktuell: Dax fällt unter 26.000-Marke – Inflation in Euro-Zone im Fokus

Düsseldorf – The DAX index has fallen below the 26,000 point mark as it continues its correction from a recent all-time high, heading into September trading. On Tuesday, the leading index closed at 25,972 points, marking a slight decline of just over one percent. This drop pushed the DAX under the 21-day line, a short-term trend indicator.

The 21-day average closing price currently sits at 26,243 points, last breached in July. The German benchmark index shed 1.2 percent on Monday, closing at 26,258 points. Such a steep daily loss was last seen on July 23. Portfolio manager Thomas Altmann of QC Partners noted that September is typically a weak month for the stock market, with the DAX only posting positive gains in September once in the past six years.

However, Altmann pointed out that the previous August, which also saw a negative trend, had a positive outcome overall. Andreas Lipkow, Chief Market Analyst at CMC Markets, remained optimistic, stating, "While investors become more cautious overall, market sentiment remains positive." These slight losses may be seen as a healthy correction, according to Lipkow.
