Conflict not confined to a region, impacts global energy, trade: PM Modi

For months, the ongoing conflict in West Asia has shown that regional tensions can have a ripple effect, causing repercussions across global energy supplies, maritime trade, and supply chains, particularly burdening the Global South. Prime Minister Narendra Modi told Shanghai Cooperation Organisation leaders that enduring peace requires dialogue over battlefields, noting the crisis had demonstrated this.

India's Prime Minister addressed countries in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, calling for end to terrorism, stating nations using it as a weapon must face consequences. Modi further stressed his three-pillared vision for the SCO, focusing on security, connectivity and opportunity, and urged action against states which misuse terrorism.
