COCOBOD settles GH¢2.3bn DDEP bond payment, completes 2026 obligations

The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has fulfilled its financial obligations by settling a sum of GH¢2.3 billion in bonds held by investors affected by the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP) for the 2026 fiscal year. The board announced the payment of GH¢2,306,202,372.09, bringing its total payments to DDEP bondholders for the year up to GH¢2,682,582,282.18.

This payment follows a March 2026 coupon payment of GH¢376.3 million, which raised the total amount paid to the DDEP bondholders to GH¢2,682,582,282.18. COCOBOD's latest settlement is part of its strategy to responsibly manage its financial commitments and bolster the financial stability of Ghana's cocoa industry. The board also settled GH¢162 million owed to non-DDEP Cocoa Bill holders in July 2026, effectively concluding its obligations to those affected parties.
