Catholic climbs to No. 1 in Week 3 PNJ Power Poll

This week's PNJ Power Poll features a new No. 1 team after Pensacola Catholic's 51-33 win over Pace. Four other area teams have a perfect 2-0 record, with one team at 1-0 and two more with first wins from last week. Five area teams are currently winless. Catholic and Pace will face tough challenges this week, with the Crusaders traveling to Tallahassee and the Patriots hosting Choctaw.

Booker T. Washington hosts Pensacola for the Mayor's Cup, while those games don't come until Friday. Here's how all 14 teams are ranked after Week 3:

1. Pensacola Catholic (2-0) - Previously ranked No. 2, Catholic won against Pace 51-33. The next game for the Crusaders is at Tallahassee Godby on September 3rd at 6 p.m.

2. Pace (1-1) - After losing to Catholic, Pace will face Choctawhatchee on September 4th at 7 p.m.

3. Booker T. Washington (2-0) - The Wildcats' offensive potential shone through last week with 179 yards and four touchdowns from Caden Osborn. Their next match is against Pensacola on September 4th at 7 p.m.

4. Tate (2-0) - The Aggies secured a win against Milton 24-21 last week and will face Escambia on September 4th at 7 p.m.

5. Pine Forest (1-1) - Pine Forest rebounded after a tough loss to Booker T. and will host Crestview on September 3rd at 7 p.m.

6. Milton (0-2) - Milton's chances to secure a win this season lie in the upcoming game against Navarre on September 4th at 7:30 p.m.

7. Escambia (0-1) - Escambia has scored just 14 points in their last four games and will face Tate on September 4th at 7 p.m.

8. Jay (2-0) - Jay's impressive performance against Elberta (56-8) and their offensive outburst totals have ranked them at No. 8. The next game is against Central on September 7th at 7 p.m.

9. Pensacola (1-1) - The Tigers lost to Gulf Breeze but are now 1-1 after taking down Gulf Breeze on Senior Night. The next match is against Booker T. Washington on September 4th at 7 p.m.

10. West Florida (0-2) - West Florida's sophomore Barron Latson had a big performance with 161 yards and two touchdowns. They will play against Fort Walton Beach on September 4th at 7 p.m.

11. Navarre (0-2) - After a tough loss to Booker T. Washington, the Raiders have allowed 82 points in their first two games. Their next match is against Milton on September 4th at 7:30 p.m.

12. Northview (2-0) - Northview's win at McIntosh 42-13 places them at No. 12. Their next game is at Graceville on September 4th at 7 p.m.
