Bristol City sign Oxford's De Keersmaecker on loan

Bristol City have signed Oxford United midfielder Brian De Keersmaecker on a season-long loan deal, with the option to purchase the 26-year-old Belgian player. De Keersmaecker, who scored a goal for Oxford last season, moved to the English game from Dutch club Heracles Almelo in 2025. He faced a setback in his first year in England, being relegated from the Championship due to injuries, specifically a shoulder injury that required surgery in February.

De Keersmaecker's last appearance for Oxford came in January, and he has not featured in any of their matchday squads since the team dropped back into League One. Bristol City's manager, Michael Skubala, expressed satisfaction with the signing, stating that it adds both depth and quality to their midfield.
