Boss Goodwin leaves hospital but still absent from Dundee Utd role

Dundee United manager Jim Goodwin has been discharged from hospital following a health scare, yet his return to his managerial role at the club remains uncertain. The 44-year-old fell ill last Thursday and was admitted to the hospital, missing United's 4-0 Scottish Premiership victory over Kilmarnock on Saturday. Assistant manager Lee Sharp took charge of the team at Rugby Park and will continue to lead them for the upcoming midweek match against Motherwell, despite Goodwin's ongoing absence.

Sharp provided an update on Goodwin's condition, stating that he is now at home recuperating and awaiting medical advice regarding his next steps. He disclosed that there is no current timeline for Goodwin's return, adding that the manager would only return to his duties at Tannadice if he is cleared by the doctors. Sharp emphasized that they are maintaining constant communication with Goodwin, and he will inform the assistant manager as soon as he receives any guidance.

In Goodwin's absence, Dundee United continues to operate as usual. The club has made progress in securing the signing of former Dundee midfielder Lyall Cameron on loan from Rangers, with the deal expected to be finalized soon.
