Borno Lauds Troops’ Efforts as Zulum Leads Resettlement of Refugees in Liberated Communities

The Borno State Government has expressed its admiration for the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) troops, lauding their courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to maintaining security and facilitating the restoration of civilian life in border communities. Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum commended the troops during a visit to the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation Hadin Kai headquarters, following a tour of 68 Battalion, Nigerian Army, situated in Mallam-Fatori, Borno State.

During his interaction with the Theatre Commander, Governor Zulum discussed the security situation in the Mallam-Fatori area and OPHK's ongoing efforts to consolidate military gains, secure liberated communities, and maintain the conditions necessary for the return of displaced populations. The governor assured the troops of the Borno State Government's continued support, particularly in providing essential resources to bolster the troops' operational effectiveness.

Governor Zulum highlighted the state's commitment to expediting the resettlement of liberated communities and assisting in the safe and dignified return of refugees from neighboring countries. These endeavors, according to the Acting Military Information Officer Captain Mohammed Goni, complement the security achievements of OPHK and aim to restore essential services, rebuild communities, and create conditions for sustainable return and reintegration.

Upon arriving at 68 Battalion, Mallam-Fatori, the governor met with the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Chiwar, senior officers, and troops in the area. He praised their steadfastness and commitment to securing the border community and pledged continued government support. The Theatre Command of OPHK acknowledged the Borno State Government's ongoing partnership and reaffirmed its dedication to conducting coordinated military operations to protect communities, secure critical infrastructure, and facilitate the safe return of displaced persons within the theatre.
