Aston Villa sign Mbaye and Harwood-Bellis

Aston Villa have finalized the signings of Senegal winger Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris St-Germain and English centre-back Taylor Harwood-Bellis from Southampton. Mbaye, who turned 18 earlier this year, joined the Premier League club for a fee of 55 million euros (£47 million). Harwood-Bellis, meanwhile, could cost the club up to £29 million.

The initial fee for the defender amounts to £25 million, with the potential for additional payments of £4 million. Mbaye's transfer fee includes a deal with a clause for further payments contingent on his performance. The young player made a significant impact during his time at PSG, scoring three goals and providing two assists in 31 matches across all competitions last season as the team defended their Ligue 1 and Champions League titles.

He also had a notable appearance for the Senegal national team at the 2026 World Cup, becoming the youngest African player to score at a men's World Cup. Mbaye's journey to Aston Villa began when he joined PSG in 2018 from FC Versailles, rising through their youth academy and making his senior debut at just 16 years old. Prior to his move to England, the French-born player represented his country at youth levels.

He is the latest addition to Unai Emery's squad, following the departures of several key players, including Morgan Rogers to Chelsea, Ezri Konsa to Arsenal, and Ollie Watkins to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal.
