In a thrilling Premier League encounter, Arsenal secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park. Bukayo Saka was the hero, netting the decisive goal in the second half to preserve the Gunners' perfect start to the 2026/27 season.

Villa started strongly and came close to scoring early on when Emiliano Buendia's 20-yard effort struck the crossbar. Arsenal, however, struggled to find their rhythm in the opening half, and Ian Maatsen also went close for the visitors.

The victory extended Arsenal's 100 per cent start to the season, while Villa suffered their second consecutive defeat. Despite showing improvement after a 4-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion, Villa struggled to create clear opportunities, failing to register a shot on target.
