Apptly Health partners with Koning on breast imaging access

VANCOUVER - Apptly Health Technologies, a CSE-listed company, has entered into a partnership with Koning Corporation, a leading medical technology firm, to expand breast CT imaging services on its UberDoc healthcare marketplace. The 12-month agreement will see Koning display UberDoc physician listings on its platform and introduce Koning Vera Breast CT system locations to the marketplace.

UberDoc, which boasts more than 5,000 specialist physicians across all 50 U.S. states, will provide physician and service data, enabling patients to book appointments directly through the platform. The Koning Vera Breast CT system, which received FDA premarket approval, generates three-dimensional images without the need for breast compression.

This innovative technology has been utilized to image over 200,000 patients in six countries. The partnership aims to provide patients with transparent pricing and access to imaging facilities offering Koning Vera technology, bypassing the need for insurance authorization or physician referrals. Koning Vera is specifically designed for diagnostic imaging to be read alongside standard two-view mammography and is not intended for screening purposes.

According to the National Cancer Institute, mammography may miss between 10% and 30% of breast cancers, while the American College of Radiology reports that up to 70% of cancers may go undetected by mammography alone in women with extremely dense breast tissue. The agreement is set to renew for successive 12-month terms unless either party provides written notice, with the option to terminate on 60 days' notice during renewal terms.

While both companies expressed intent to establish a revenue-sharing arrangement, the terms have not yet been agreed upon, requiring a separate written amendment. Apptly Health, founded by Dr. Paula M. Muto, operates UberDoc, a direct-pay healthcare marketplace.
