Android Auto gets a fresh new icon before its big redesign
Google is ditching long-standing blue for green.
Android Auto is set to receive a fresh new icon before its big redesign, as confirmed by Android Authority. The app is said to be ditching the blue icon for a green one, signaling a change in visual identity. The new icon also features rounder corners compared to its predecessor. Android Auto's redesign is expected to bring more fluid elements, fewer rigid shapes, widget support, and video playback to the user interface.
Despite Android Auto's current visual shortcomings compared to Apple CarPlay, this icon update signifies Google's commitment to improving the software experience. The specific rollout date is yet to be announced, but with Google's recent hardware launches, it seems the company is focusing on enhancing its software offerings as well.
