Alwagait: Tawakkalna records 4.4 billion monthly transactions, 13.3 million active users

Dr. Esam Alwagait, director of the National Information Center at the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), reported that the Tawakkalna application has handled more than 4.4 billion transactions and boasted over 13.3 million active users on a monthly basis over the past six months. Speaking at a panel discussion at the LEAP 26 conference in Riyadh, Alwagait highlighted the platform's significant reliance and the advancement of the Kingdom's data infrastructure.

Governor of the Digital Government Authority, Eng. Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, also participated in the discussion, which centered on the integration of government services through the all-encompassing national application Tawakkalna and its influence on improving user experience and government efficiency. The two discussed how Tawakkalna aims for 2030 to achieve zero information duplication, zero paper, and a 100 percent provision of proactive services, ensuring that beneficiaries receive services tailored to their needs and at the appropriate time, without having to resubmit previously available data and documents while preserving their data privacy.

Alwagait emphasized that the Tawakkalna application's successes signify a shift in government operations towards an integrated, beneficiary-centered system. He elaborated on the objective of achieving 100 percent integration of government application services, which would serve as a foundation for re-engineering services based on beneficiary requirements and life events.

This would entail moving from searching through over 1,700 services to a more proactive experience enhanced by artificial intelligence, such as launching the pilot phase of the "Shamel" smart assistant to deliver services related to beneficiaries' needs in a more convenient and proactive manner.

Alsuwaiyan pointed out that the inclusion of services from 62 government entities in Tawakkalna reflects the advanced level of integration achieved by the Kingdom's digital government system. He explained that the real value of this integration transcends simply consolidating services on a single platform; it focuses on constructing a cohesive government experience centered around beneficiaries, saving time and effort while elevating service quality and efficiency.

Alsuwaiyan attributed this to governance of integration, standardization of criteria, and promotion of the use of national digital enablers, leading to greater efficiency in government spending and enhancing the Kingdom's competitiveness in global digital government indicators.
