Alberta’s Smith says Tennessee trip isn’t sending wrong message during trade war

CALGARY - Alberta Premier Danielle Smith insists her upcoming trip to Tennessee is not sending the wrong message during the trade war between Canada and its southern neighbour. Premier Smith emphasizes her commitment to diplomacy and working with officials from all sectors to uphold the importance of the relationship between the two nations.

She is scheduled to visit Nashville later this week as a personal trip, but her office says she'll meet with state tourism officials and the head of the city's chamber of commerce. Smith's visit to Nashville aligns with Calgary's goal of positioning itself as "Nashville North," and she aims to learn from the experience while establishing music industry partnerships.

Alberta's senior representative to the United States, Nathan Cooper, will join Smith for the meetings.
