AG Ghana Launches 2026 World Congress At Local Level

The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God (AG) in Ghana, Rev. Stephen Yenusom Wengam, recently launched the 2026 World Congress at the local church level. This event, scheduled for October 14 to 16, 2026, will bring together approximately 10,000 pastors, ministers, and church leaders from Assemblies of God churches globally.

For the first time in 115 years of the Fellowship's history, Ghana will host the congress, with main activities taking place at the Independence Square and the Accra Sports Stadium. Rev. Wengam emphasized the importance of participants' engagement in daytime sessions at the Independence Square, which will involve seminars and workshops, while evening revival rallies at the Accra Sports Stadium will be free of charge.

He urged church members to fill the stadium during these rallies as a sign of appreciation for hosting the global event. Rev. Wengam stressed that the congress aims to glorify God and strengthen the Assemblies of God worldwide. It will also provide an opportunity for world church leaders to strategize towards achieving the MM33 vision of planting one million churches by 2033, in line with commemorating the 2,000-year anniversary of Jesus' resurrection.

The event aligns with Assemblies of God Ghana's Transformational Agenda, which focuses on planting more churches, building legacy temples, and evangelizing the nation. Rev. Wengam called on members to move the initiative "to the highest spiritual gear" and thanked them for their support throughout his pastoral and leadership journey.
