ACCI Unveils AgroMeqa Expo to Drive Mechanisation, Private Capital into Agriculture

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) has unveiled plans for the AGROMEQA EXPO 2026, a significant event aimed at promoting agricultural mechanisation, technology, and private investment to transform Nigeria's agricultural sector. ACCI President, Chief Emeka Obegolu, revealed this during a media briefing, expressing optimism about the exhibition's potential to drive the country's transition from subsistence farming to a competitive, export-oriented agricultural economy.

Obegolu emphasized that agriculture could not achieve its full economic potential without a shift towards mechanisation, technology, investment, value addition, and stronger market linkages. The Expo, scheduled for October 15-16, 2026, in Abuja, will serve as a platform for stakeholders to forge partnerships and transform the sector.

The event will feature modern agricultural machinery, precision farming technologies, irrigation systems, agro-processing equipment, packaging innovations, and climate-smart technologies. Additionally, it will include live demonstrations, high-level plenary sessions, technical discussions, workshops, and investment forums to facilitate technology transfer and capital mobilisation.

The Expo aims to bring together various stakeholders, including policymakers, agribusiness investors, machinery manufacturers, technology companies, research institutions, farmers' associations, development partners, financial institutions, agro-processors, exporters, and logistics operators. Notable attendees include the President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) and the Vice President of Nigeria.

The event is expected to contribute to food security, employment, rural development, industrialisation, and export growth in Nigeria.
