2027: ‘He’s formidable politician’ – Donald Duke points out Tinubu’s weakness

In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Donald Duke, the 2027 presidential candidate of the People’s Redemption Party, has expressed his view on President Bola Tinubu. Duke described Tinubu as a "formidable politician," but pointed out that his only concern with Tinubu is his governance. The two were once governors together from 1999 to 2007.

Duke highlighted the weak governance under Tinubu, stating that the nation is currently in a precarious situation. However, Duke believes that if Tinubu were to acknowledge his mistakes and make amends, there could be a possibility of reconsideration. Duke also noted Tinubu's stubbornness and conviction in his decisions. Duke cautioned that if the current trajectory continues, with yearly increases in poverty, it might not be a favorable situation.
