세수 호황에 산업부 예산 13.3조 ‘역대 최대’…AI·반도체·자원안보 집중

The Korea Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's 2027 budget has been announced as the highest in history, at 13.3 trillion won. This significant increase is due to the surge in government revenue from improved tax collection, particularly from the booming semiconductor industry and AI transition. The budgeting process, overseen by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, saw a 40.5% increase from 2026's 9.43 trillion won, bringing the total to 13.2573 trillion won.

The increase also includes funding for various future growth sectors such as AI, semiconductor, and resource security. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy plans to allocate 9118 billion won to new projects, bringing its total budget to 14.1691 trillion won. The largest portion of the budget will be dedicated to AI transition and mega projects, with investments of 1200 billion won in full-stack AI factories and 2900 billion won in AI solutions.

In addition, separate funding for semiconductor support, totaling 2 trillion won, will be allocated. The Ministry is also focusing on securing key minerals and ensuring supply chain stability, with a resource security fund of 1.4 trillion won, of which 1.2352 trillion won will be allocated to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

The budget also includes measures to support green technologies, such as clean hydrogen and low-emission steel, and aims to boost domestic car manufacturing, with 3158 billion won allocated to green vehicle technology.
