A British activist named Finn Joughin remains detained in Israeli police custody on suspicion of indecently assaulting a minor, according to sources. The incident occurred in the southern West Bank village of Umm al-Kheir on Saturday, where Joughin claimed he was attempting to shield a Palestinian from violence. Police stated that Joughin was being held "on suspicion of performing an indecent act against a minor."

Footage from the encounter shows Joughin gripping a fence while standing next to a child, seemingly to prevent the child from passing through. Left-wing activist representatives described Joughin's detention as a form of "kidnapping," alleging that the confrontation arose after Israeli settler children allegedly took a ball from Palestinians.

Additional footage depicts a Hebrew-speaking individual calling Joughin an anarchist and a pedophile. Israeli settlers, armed with weapons, apprehended Joughin in Umm al-Kheir before transferring him to Israeli police custody. The British national is currently in custody as the investigation proceeds, with police confirming that he was questioned and testimonies indicating a suspicion of a case involving the assault of a minor were collected.
