Workers’ strike at Kenya’s main international airport leaves passengers stranded

A workers' strike at Kenya's primary international airport in Nairobi has disrupted air traffic, leaving numerous passengers stranded as flights are either delayed or canceled. Kenya Airports Authority announced in a statement on Monday that "some flights are experiencing delays and cancellations," urging travelers to verify their airline's status before heading to the airport.

The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport has faced recurring industrial actions, with workers advocating for improved pay and working conditions through their trade union, the Kenya Aviation Workers Union. Both Kenya Airways and its subsidiary, Jambojet, have reported significant flight delays. A comparable strike in February also left passengers stranded, highlighting the airport's status as a crucial transportation link for both regional and international travel.
