UAE Armed Forces destroy Iranian drone over national territory

CENTCOM announced on Sunday that it carried out strikes against Iranian forces in the Strait of Hormuz, warning that these forces posed an imminent threat. President Donald Trump had authorized major combat operations against Iran on February 28, targeting military, government, and infrastructure sites. Following a series of negotiations aimed at reaching a war-ending deal between the U.S. and Iran, tensions have persisted, with the Strait of Hormuz remaining a key point of contention.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Monday that Tehran does not seek war but will respond decisively to aggressors. He emphasized that Iran will not remain passive in the face of aggression, according to the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency.

CENTCOM described its limited, precise action as a response to Iranian minelaying forces, aimed at protecting civilian mariners, commercial shipping, and the free flow of global commerce. Jordanian air defense systems intercepted eight missiles in Jordanian airspace early Monday, destroying them before they posed a threat to citizens or property.

The attack on Jordan occurred following U.S. strikes on two Iranian rocket launch sites on Larak Island, according to a U.S. official. Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) asserted that the U.S. military's action would be met with retaliation and that it would lead to punishment of the aggressor, as reported by Iran's official news agency IRNA.
