Trump ally Laura Loomer faces widespread condemnation after racist comments against black officials

US President Donald Trump's ally, Laura Loomer, found herself facing widespread condemnation on Monday for her racist comments targeting Democratic socialist Florida State Representative Angie Nixon as well as other prominent black US politicians and a Supreme Court justice. Loomer, a right-wing blogger, conspiracy theorist and Trump ally, specifically labeled Nixon as a "ghetto, black, communist" in a series of tweets on X/Twitter.

Her comments mirrored previous accusations she had made against Illinois Representative Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, Cori Bush, and Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, all black women, describing them as "ghetto, entitled, race-obsessed, destructive black BITCHES who are completely unfit for the power they hold."

Nixon had recently won a significant upset in Florida's Democratic primary race for the US Senate. Loomer's rhetoric has often been characterized by anti-Muslim sentiments, ranging from calls for Muslims to be banned from holding office to advocating for their deportation from America. Maryland Governor Wes Moore expressed outrage, stating that attacking and insulting Black women is a result of Loomer believing that racism is beneficial for her clicks and business model.

US Representative Rashida Tlaib, who has herself faced Loomer's attacks, decried the unchecked nature of anti-Black racism. House of Representatives Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries called Loomer a "stone-cold racist".

Civil rights attorney Ben Crump firmly rejected Loomer's hateful rhetoric, emphasizing that Black women should not have to endure such demeaning language simply for leading. The Council on American-Islamic Relations also condemned Loomer's comments, labeling them as the "very definition of anti-Black racism".
