Nollywood actress Mary Remmy Njoku has spoken out about the challenges some men face when their wives become more successful, arguing that ego and insecurity can lead them to feel threatened by their partners' achievements. In a post on her Instagram page, she discussed how couples react when the woman in the relationship begins earning significantly more than the man.

Njoku noted that many women are supportive when their husbands become successful, viewing it as a win for the family. However, she highlighted that some men struggle when the situation is reversed.

According to the actress, feeling emasculated, inadequate, or disrespected is common among men when their wives start earning more, even if the woman hasn't done anything to provoke these feelings. Njoku pointed out that disagreements can often be attributed to the woman's higher income, even when her behavior hasn't changed. She explained that suddenly, every minor disagreement can be framed as, "It's because you have more money than me," which becomes the real issue.

Njoku emphasized that the root of the problem often lies in a man's insecurity about his wife's success and how it affects his own self-worth rather than the woman's actions.

She stressed that a woman's success should not make her husband feel inferior, and a loving partner should be able to celebrate his partner's achievements without perceiving them as a threat.
