Swiss man arrested after one killed and several wounded at rave shooting, police say

Swiss police have arrested a 43-year-old man in connection with a deadly shooting that took place at a rave in Aarau, a town on the weekend. The victim, a 22-year-old Italian woman, was killed and five others sustained injuries during the incident at a covered horse racetrack around 1am local time. Police conducted a wide-ranging operation and apprehended the suspect early this morning.

Investigations are ongoing to determine the details and motives behind the attack, with police assuming a single perpetrator was involved. Three possible motives have been considered: a mass shooting, an act of terrorism, or an unknown criminal motive. Cartridges discovered at the scene suggest the use of two different calibres of bullets, possibly from a pistol and an assault rifle, according to police.
