Suspected bandits kill APC chairman, one other in Kano

In Kano State, Nigeria, suspected bandits brutally killed All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman Alhaji Garba Buba and another individual in Rantan Ward of Bebeji Local Government Area on Sunday night. Shocked locals reported that the attackers stormed the community, opening fire and claiming the lives of Buba and Sulaiman Zunduma.

Buba, who was shot during the attack, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. One resident recounted, "Last night, Sunday, suspected kidnappers attacked our town, Rantan. During the attack, they shot Alhaji Garba Buba, the APC chairman of Rantan Ward, who later died in hospital from the injuries sustained." Another resident confirmed the killing of another person, Sulaiman Zunduma.

The victim's family member, Hafsat Garba Rantan, identified Buba as her paternal uncle. This incident unfolded just hours after a separate bandit attack in Chiromawa community, resulting in the abduction of the Sarkin Noman Jihar Kano, Alhaji Yusuf Nadabo Chiromawa, and the killing of three others. Kano North, with local government areas that border Katsina and Zamfara states, has recently witnessed a surge in bandit attacks, leaving residents on edge.
