Sourav Ganguly kickstarts Bigg Boss Bangla

Bigg Boss Bangla, a popular Indian reality television show, has returned to television after a nearly ten-year hiatus. The third season of the show premiered on Star Jalsha and JioHotstar on Sunday, and will be hosted by former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly. The 15 contestants for the latest season come from a variety of backgrounds, including acting, music, football, business, and social media.

The first contestant to enter the Bigg Boss Bangla house was actor Monami Ghosh, who arrived in the role of Uma in a white-and-red saree, performing a song she composed herself. Actor Bharat Kaul was the second to enter, known for portraying negative characters in films and television. Singer Durnibar Saha followed, having won several singing reality shows and working as a playback singer.

Other notable contestants include dancer Sohini Pal, daughter of late Bengali actor Tapas Pal, YouTuber Niranjan Mondal, and Nandini Roy, who recently left the television serial Kone Dekha Alo. A former footballer, Dipendu Biswas, also joined the show, along with entrepreneur Tanushree Roy Das and social media influencer Sayak. British actor Alexandra Taylor and actor Srijla Guha also joined the contestants, as well as social media personality Jhilam Gupta and television actor Sonamoni Saha, who made it clear her goal was to win the Bigg Boss Bangla trophy.

The show's history dates back to 2013, when it first launched on ETV Bangla with actor Mithun Chakraborty as the host. The first season was won by Anik Dhar, with the second season airing on Colors Bangla and won by Joyjit Banerjee.
