Sanjay Singh will be expelled from party if allegations are found true: Chirag Paswan

Patna: LJP (RV) chief and Union Minister Chirag Paswan declared on Monday that his party colleague Sanjay Singh, a Bihar minister, would face expulsion from his position and the party should charges be proven in the Delhi hotel incident. Singh, a member of Bihar's Assembly, is embroiled in controversy following accusations of improper behavior towards a female hotel employee.

"I will not shield anyone who is proven to be culpable, even if they are part of my family," he stated. He said the party had sought an explanation from Singh, who presented his perspective to the party assembly.

Paswan urged the woman involved to reveal the truth and appealed to the hotel management to cooperate. He promised to personally request an investigation by the Bihar government. "No matter the facts, an investigation should be carried out," he emphasized. "Even if the accused is from my party or my family, I will not protect him due to the damage to Bihar's reputation.

There must be facts, not mere allegations and counter-allegations. Whoever is found guilty must face the most severe possible punishment." Tej Pratap alleged that Singh acted inappropriately with a young woman at a Delhi hotel, with hotel staff intervening to resolve the situation. Singh subsequently demanded an apology from Tej Pratap and issued a Rs 50-crore defamation notice.
