Russia damages Nova Post terminal in Odesa Oblast

On August 31, Russian forces targeted a Nova Poshta terminal in Odesa Oblast, as reported by regional governor Oleh Kiper. The attack resulted in a fire, which has since been extinguished and no casualties have been confirmed. Emergency services and other relevant agencies are currently on-site addressing the situation, according to the Odesa Oblast Military Administration.

Ukraine's State Emergency Service confirmed that the strike inflicted significant damage to the Nova Post building and sparked a fire. On the preceding night of August 30-31, Russia launched a substantial attack across Ukraine, employing one Kh-59 guided air-launched missile, 121 Shahed attack drones, Gerbera drones, and Parodiya decoys.

Ukrainian air defenses successfully neutralized or electronically subdued 96 Shahed, Gerbera, and other drones across northern, southern, eastern, and central Ukraine. However, the Kh-59 missile failed to hit its intended target. Furthermore, Russian forces struck Sviatopetrivske within Kyiv Oblast on August 28, causing damage to Nova Poshta warehouses and a neighboring production facility.

Two additional strikes targeted the same location while firefighters were engaged in extinguishing the flames. Prior to these incidents, Russian assaults in Kyiv Oblast had already inflicted damage on several key commercial and logistics facilities, including a Comfy distribution center, a recently opened Fora warehouse, a Roshen warehouse, a Budynok Ihrashok distribution center, and an Aurora distribution center.
