Richmond Gyamfi to join Egersunds IK on loan from AGF

Ghanaian striker Richmond Gyamfi is set to embark on a loan move from Danish side AGF Aarhus to Norwegian club Egersunds IK, according to news agency Joy Sports. The versatile forward will stay at Egersunds until the conclusion of the current season, aiming to gain more playing time and further his development.

In July 2024, Gyamfi transferred from Hobro IK to AGF for a reported transfer fee of nine million Danish kroner (€900,000), making him the club's most expensive acquisition to date. His contract with AGF extends until June 2029.

During the autumn of 2024, the 21-year-old appeared in six matches for AGF, with four of those games coming as a substitute in the Danish Superliga. Unsatisfied with limited opportunities, Gyamfi briefly returned to Hobro on loan in January 2025 before being loaned out to Esbjerg fB on a season-long deal in August of the same year.

However, his time at Esbjerg was hampered by injuries, despite making a promising impact. He made his debut just two days after joining EGB, but then suffered six injuries and did not feature during the spring campaign.

Before his move to AGF, Gyamfi showcased his goal-scoring and assisting abilities at Hobro, scoring three goals and providing four assists in 10 senior league appearances. Now, with Egersunds, he hopes to regain full fitness, build consistency, and secure the regular playing time that has been difficult to come by in his brief stint in Denmark.
